Could somebody explain the difference between 23.98P & 23.98Psf - or is there any. I know that Psf stands for Progressive Segmented Frame.

Also, are 59.94 and 29.97 the same thing, but they are just counting the fields instead of the frames just ot make it more complicated.

Don't you just love it when someone says they are shooting in "HD" and then you open up the scroll and say oh yeah, which one ??

Hi

Just to make it simple to understand, 23.98P is for progressive frames in drop-frame timeline.
The frames are captured/displayed as complete images (just like still pictures).

23.98Psf is basically same as 23.98P when displayed because they both are progressive frames.
However, the difference is during the capture of the frames in camera. Instead of capturing
the frame as a complete image as in Progressive method, PsF captures odd and even fields
of the image and later combine them to complete the frame as a whole picture. It is different from
"interlaced" since the two fields are combined before the recording media. After this process, the
frames live as progressive.

Hope this makes sense.
