making flash movies

Hi guys,

A client has asked me for an flv file from a quicktime. Does anyone know of a decent free software to convert quicktime - flv?

the demo version limits you to 2 minute long renders so you can get some solid tests in before you buy. I am testing it out for a big corporate consulting gig coming up and haven't used it in mission critical situations yet but all the tests have gone well with the web coders and hosts.

Whenever you're considering a Flash conversion tool, make sure that it can create a "Flash 8" (0n2) .flv file. Many of these discount converters will only create Flash 7 (Sorensen, MX) .flv files, which are not nearly as good, in terms of bandwidth/quality. Flash 8 .flv is very similar to h.264 . Some inexpensive converters will only create .swf video, which is poorer still.
