viewer settings?

Hi! i made a capture of a tape which apparently is in 4:3 but on the viewer appears distorted as a widescreen. How can I fix this before I start editing the clip?
Note: I noticed that when I load the clip from the timeline into the viewer under motion>distortion the aspect ratio is -33 ... but If I load the clip from the browser into the viewer it;s the problem

Your Sequence is probably set to Anamorphic 16:9. Select the Sequence, press APPLE-0 and then uncheck Anamorphic 16:9. Also, go into Audio/Video Settings and check your Sequence Presets.

Actually, if the Distort - Aspect Ratio is -33.33, then it's my bad -- it's likely to be the other way around. You have clips incorrectly set to Anamorphic 16:9 and your Sequence is not. Select the clips, then go into the Anamorphic column in the Browser, CONTROL-click and choose No to remove the Anamorphic flag from the clips.
