Transitioning from Media 100

<HTML>We recently began transitioning to a 100% digital workflow using a Canon XL1 and FCP 2.0. However, we still have a lot invested in our legacy system (Media 100i v.7.0). How can I transfer footage and/or projects from Media 100 to FCP? I have tried exporting to DV stream with very poor results. Please help.</HTML>

<HTML>You cannot transfer footage directly. Media 100 upconverts DV input to 4:2:2 color space. In addition, Media 100 conforms to the 720x486 CCIR spec whereas DV is 720x480. You will need to downconvert all your Media 100 files to DV before bringing them into FCP. As for the quality issue, I've done it before and it is not terrible.
