Audio in timeline not playing back

I've got some weirdness happening... Can anyone help me troubleshoot this:

Basically, I've got an audio clip in my timeline that won't play back properly.

I've sent my sequence to Soundtrack Pro, brought it back into FCP, and am making some tweaks to it there. My problem clip won't play back in the timeline at all -- the solo button doesn't seem to work at all. If I solo the clip, I still hear the entire timeline playing back.

If I match frame back to the viewer, the audio is there. And in the timeline, I can see the waveform, so I know that it's there. It's rendered. There's three other clips I'm trying to add in that are behaving the same way.

And now, while typing this, I've been trying some last-ditch ideas. I moved the clip off the track I originally edited it into, and onto one of the tracks that STP sent back, and it works just fine.

Is this a bug? Any ideas why this happened?

did you try to play it in a new sequence? old one currupt maybe?
