HDV capture screen blank

G5 dual 2.7 GHZ Power PC
4 gig ram
FCP Studio2 1 day old
AV settings HDV1080i60
Capture preset HDV
Device Control HDV Firewire basic

Canon XH A1
Play back STD HDV, down conversion set to off
This is my first try.
FCP sees camera and controls it but capture window stays black? Capture now dialog says no data from device, I know its there I've played the tape. I just had to get into HDV it was so easy before.
