I'm in real trouble here - please help?Posted by AdAudioInc
I did a very simple edit today. :30 spot for Pizza Hut - 8 bit TL, capture from SP and everything looks great. The problem occurs when I put a graphic on the TL - there is a ghost of the graphic underneath, and I can't get it to go away!
1. I've tried other graphics that I've used in the past and they ghost also 2. I've opened projects from a week ago and they now ghost 3. The ghosting does NOT show in the canvas window 4. output is through Blackmagic Decklink to SP, then "S" to monitor 5. I've trashed Prefs 6. I've rebooted, including pulling the power cord from the G5 7. I've tried other TL settings, (DV, 10 bit) - no change ANY help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Actually - I can't. I tried to output a .jpg for you, but the ghost did not appear in it - just as it does not appear in the canvas window?
The ghost is like a full-color drop shadow of the .psd set to a distance of "6" and about 12% opacity. Settings are: NTSC CCIR 601 720 x 486 Lower 29.97 Un-comp 8-bit 100% Thanks.

> there - I think that points to the Decklink? - > yes? 1. Why was it so difficult to output a QT in the first place? 2. when you mentioned "output is through Blackmagic Decklink to SP, then "S" to monitor" I don't really get this part- are you sending the output through a Beta SP deck? If so, why don't you run the decklink outs straight to your monitor? 3. It could be the decklink- do you have the latest components installed? I'm actually suspecting it's the monitoring route, since it doesn't show up when you export a qt. Did you try popping that QT back onto the timeline and viewing it from the broadcast mon? 4. If it doesn't show in the computer screen, but only in the monitor, does the shadow flicker?

So maybe not hardware, I'm back to software problem...... > > 4. If it doesn't show in the computer screen, but > only in the monitor, does the shadow flicker? - no Thanks for your efforts.

It could be something going on with the deck for all you know. Since it doesn't show up on the computer screen at all (it might not actually be on the video if the issue is caused by interference somewhere in the output signal).
Lol. Yea, it could have been either. I'd have gone first for a cable switch- updating/reinstalling in the middle of a project should be avoided as much as possible.
The fact that you had problems exporting a qt movie, would mean a glitch somewhere, probably from a corrupted driver driver.
