Compressor fails, no explanation

Having some troubles with Compressor. I've exported a quicktime out of FCP (6.0.2), opened it up in compressor 3.0.2, ran a customized output setting on the footage, and I just get a "failed".

I tried a couple of the compressor pre-sets, and they fail also. I don't get any reason for the failed, just a "failed".

When I go into Quicktime, and export (using the settings that are the equivalent of the custom preset in Compressor), it works just fine.

How do I start troubleshooting this? What do you do with Compressor when you get these "failed" problems without explanation?

In your finder, hit Go to Folder and type this in

/Var/spool/Qmaster

Delete everything in this folder, empty the trash, and then Open Compressor and in the Compressor Menu Hit Reset Background Processing. That should take care of most issues...

Is this some kind of known Compressor bug? What went wrong?

Something messed up in the Qmaster, from what i know. Doing that resets whatever compressor was doing.
