Hi all

I'm running FCP5. I want to install FCP6 onto my powerbookG4 laptop, but i wonder if i have enough machine to run it. The G4 has 1.5Ghz; 1 GB RAM; I'm running MacOS 10.4.11. Is that enough?

thanks

martha

Just. Graphics card may be a problem.

A Macintosh computer with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4, PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, or Intel Xeon processor
1GB of RAM
An AGP or PCI Express Quartz Extreme graphics card (Final Cut Studio is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors)
A display with 1024-by-768 resolution or higher
Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later
QuickTime 7.1.6 or later
A DVD drive for installation

Well, I'm running FCP 6.0.2 and Motion and Compressor all on my PB G4 1.67Ghz...at 10.4.11. No problems. Motion is slow, but that's no shock. 1.5GB RAM

I am also running Avid Media Composer 2.8.2 on the same machine...again, no issues.

i have a G4-1.5gh 17" laptop
1.5 gb of ram and using external HD's on Firewire 800.
Everything runs fine
I am also using an external 24" Samsung ( I know its not a Dell) but at 1/2 the price.
Somethings are not speedy, but u get what u pay for.
