Compressing for Emailing

Hi...
I've searched for the answer to this but can't quite find it....
I have a High Def project (1920 x 1080)... I would like to compress it to roughly 10mb max (to email). What is my best bet for settings/format to preserve as much quality as possible (I've tried several variations, and could spend all day experimenting, but maybe someone knows and can help me out).
Thanks!
Luna

you are gonna need a .mac account or a ftp upload/ download site. Email only allows for -5% of the 25mb (bell south, sbc, cable) and for hoated pop accounts such as godaddy and gmail are only 10 mb.

your file being transfered via email more depends on the receiver than sender. OH, but there is a sweet spot.

try this---> [www.movedigital.com]

Well, I know that it would be good to get an ftp... but for now, what are my best settings to crunch it to 10mb? I know it can be done.

I also just found this, which looks really interesting. You can put up to 100 Mb of anything on it for free, and even let you password protect it. Only caveat- it'll convert your video files to .flv files, but I'm guessing if you zip them, it won't.

[drop.io]

I haven't had a chance to actually try it out on anything- let me know how it works if you use it.

Ok, I just exported a QT movie 'as is' from the timeline to see the size... 2.7 GB.

Try this:

www.yousendit.com
www.sendthisfile.com

Both are free and you can send up to 1 GB.

An update:
I compressed to approx 45MB, and then used both the 'drop.io' and the 'movedigital' and they both work really well. For the io people can just click and watch it flv, looks great. And with the other one people can download and it's really quick.
Both great, and easy to use.
Thanks!
