Anyone have a favourite ASCII character?

...cus its like Aquarius (my star sign) and it means "approximately" which is my favourite precursive to a statement that concerns the time an edit will be finished.
If I were to use = then Sod's Law dictates I would end up ? and then get no $...

I like ~ but you can't just tell anyone to use 'tilde', you always have to say "now hit tilde - it's the one to the left of the number one key on the main keyboard when you hold shift" which is kind of awkward as a naming convention for one character.
