I just wanted to say that if you really want to find work using FCP, you MIGHT want to add yourself to the Talent Directory...or post that you are looking for work on the JOBS forum.
The company that I work for just hired Xavier (xapil) as an assistant editor. Prior to that I found another Assistant in the Talent Directory for another show...Gabe. Gabe turned out to be QUITE talented and a huge asset, so much so that when that show finished, he moved over to the company I am currently with. And Xavier seems to know his stuff, and will start on Monday. This comes with a caveat. If you lack a lot of editing experience, and not much on your reel, you might want to forgo the EDITOR listing and list yourself as an Assistant Editor...or as both. Because Finding a good FCP assistant editor is TOUGH...just finding someone who WANTS to be a FCP assistant is rare. And don't knock the job...being an assistant editor is a great way to get your foot in the door, and to learn how the process of editing, say broadcast television, is done. Derek Mok was an assistant...I was an assistant. For years, and I learned a lot. I have also gotten a call from my listing in there...so it isn't only for assistants. I just wanted to say that if you lack a lot of real world experience, this is a good way to get it. ANYWAY...I just wanted to point out that the TALENT DIRECTORY works. Thank you Michael for having it available. www.shanerosseditor.com Listen to THE EDIT BAY Podcast on iTunes [itunes.apple.com]

He really is. And I spent three formative years in Missoula myself. It's one reason why I'm a good editor today. - Loren Today's FCP keytip: Set your customized window layout 1 or 2 by holding Option then click Window menu>Arrange>and select Set Custom Layout 1 or 2 ! Ah the Top Hat...a Missoula icon. Actually, ALL the bars in Missoula are landmarks. "So you go just past the Top Hat until you reach Higgins Ave, then you take a left until you hit the Oxford Bar. Take a right and there is the Missoulian Newspaper."
That place is also flush with Second Hand stores.... www.shanerosseditor.com Listen to THE EDIT BAY Podcast on iTunes [itunes.apple.com]
