MPEG2 Muxed/Media Streamclip - Footage won't play

Hello to all,

I received stock footage in the MPEG2 Muxed format. After importing into FCP there was no audio, so I used Media Streamclip to convert the footage to:
29.97, 720x480
H.264
Data Rate 1.3 MB
NTSC - CCIR 601
Field Dominance - Lower
Stereo / 48Khz

When I try to put the converted clip into my timeline I get a message saying that the footage does not match any of my sequence presets. If I let FCP change the sequence presets OR if I don't and render the footage when I put the footage into my timeline and play the footage I cannot see it on my broadcast monitor. MiniDV clips in another timeline show up in the broadcast monitor.

How do I deal with this stock footage (MPEG2/Muxed)?

As always, thanks in advance!

FCP 6.0.3
OX 10.4.11
G5 2.3 Ghz

I'm using DV-NTSC easy set-up

Wow! this is getting quite common! Is it DVD season already?

Kinda discussed it here...

Yea, don't transcode it to H.264! Convert it to a Quicktime movie with the compressor set to DV NTSC.
