Clip capture

I'm capturing a clip on the log and capture. and I'd like to have it in one single file. Instead, the FCP is making little clips on each DV start/stop detection. is there a setting to change this?

Do you have timecode breaks on the tape? My bet is that you have User Preferences - Upon timecode break: Make New Clip on and your tape either has bona fide timecode breaks, or dropouts.

If you have timecode breaks, just changing that setting doesn't solve your fundamental problem. Check and report back and we'll go from there.
