Editing from a DVD master

Hi there,

Was wondering if anyone has edited from a DVD master. I tried importing a .vob file from a DVD and see nothing in the viewer. FYI - This is the client's DVD master, not a movie rental, and not a data DVD. I took the .vob from the TS Video folder.

Any suggestions?

You can use MPEG Streamclip (which is free) to convert the VOB file to a format you can edit, such a ProRes 422 for the picture and AIFF for the sound.
