OT: MUST HAVE APP FOR FCP!!!!

Ok guys this is a shameless plug for Digital Heaven's new application called Loader!

Jude and I have been lucky enough to beta test it and it rocks!

I can already count the hours saved converting MP3s/CAF files on import to FCP but it does a lot more...

I totally agree. This product returns functionality I've been whining about missing since FCP 2. It's simple, unobtrusive and effective. Can't ask for more than that!

They make very good products -- their MovieLogger program has saves us countless hours of drudge work -- it reads timecode from quick time files - you never have to type another number or : again -- all keystrokes -- makes logging a breeze.

Loader is great -- will be buying that too! Andy

CLICK...buy! Man, I am the prophet of organization, and this is a MUST HAVE tool. This will save people from so many headaches. Not only will it organize files for you, IT WILL CONVERT MP3s to AIFF FILES, THEN import them to your Capture Scratch folder. No more Tennessee two step (or 5 step) with iTunes. (Won't convert iTunes purchased music, that still requires some shinanigans).

These guys are very smart...it's as if they too are editors and know what tools editors want, and what we gripe about. My library is full if Digital Heaven tools.

This is a lot like a brain-boosted Compressor with better interaction with other software, isn't it?

I might find a bit less use for it since I'm obsessive-compulsive about choosing my own media locations, but that's my issue, not theirs. Three cheers to Martin and the Digital Heaven team for thinking about the detailed angles of our day-to-day editing.

System Requirements
Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 (or later).

There are a lot of us still working with FCS1/FCP5. This app looks like it works externally to FCP, why does it matter which version it is?

It's based on using current version of XML I believe to bring the material into the project.

The requirement for FCP6.0.2 or later is because Loader needs the Apple Event feature that was added in 6.0.2 so it can request a list of the projects that are currently open.

Retrofit - that is totally my word of the day now. Makes me think of fifties hot rods running drag racing engines.
