My Video Playback on my second screen merely gives me a still picture.

I set it to Digital Cinema Desktop Preview ... It used to work. But suddenly it's decided not to.

Any ideas?

Make sure that external video is set to "all frames".

WHere do I find that setting?

I simply used the Audio/Video setting. It doesn't give me an option like that.

Under View> external video

Make sure that it is set to "all frames".

Yep, it's set to "all frames"... but still no real play back.

Is there any other way of resetting this thing?

1. Make sure that mirror on desktop is checked. It's somewhere the preferences...

2. If that doesnt' work, trash your preferences.

Also, what is your sequence codec?

Audio/Video Settings - A/V Devices - Video Playback.

Well I exported a timeline in appleproress and played that back on a timeline and that played ok.

So the XDCam codec causes this?

Got the solution! Trash the preferences and then re-install the quicktime desktopvideoout.component! Apparently there's a bug in the latest Quicktime upgrade.

Phew... was beginning to think I was going to have to go through the whole horrible routine of reinstalling everything.
