He was like a force of nature on The West Wing. I don't agree with some of his politics, but his work is sterling. Sad that he left the world at the early age of 62.

Find the "Heatvision and Jack" pilot (Jack Black, Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller) to see Mr. Silver as an ironic best version of himself. That's what came into my head when I heard he had passed. That's a good thing I would wager.

Ron Silver was a journeyman Actor. Loads of TV. One piece that pops into my head is "Best Friends" (Dir: Norman Jewison - 1982). He played a Director trying to make a movie with 2 bickering writers (Burt Reynolds & Goldie Hawn). Great old movie.
