My Mac is hating my "Light Rays" plug in... why?

Okay, don't hate me, because I know I've way surpassed the annoying newbie question stage, but I have a version 1.1 Intel Mac and it won't support the 4870. Furthermore, I was talking to the guys at the Mac Store and they said because brightness didn't render, they think it's not the graphics card.

Thoughts?

...and BTW... I opened a new project and experimented with a small 10 second clip and Light Rays worked fine. Did that help?
