Greetings

My motherboard blew out and was replaced. Now when I fire up FCP the registration window won't take my serial number.

The original was FCP 5.1 and I've also tried the the upgrade number (which opened a window telling me it was an upgrade and I needed the original)

Try going into the Library/Application Support/ProApps/ and trash the Final Cut Studio System ID file

Boot up FCP and enter serial number

Just tried it, no luck.

Did you restart the mac after you trashed the serial number?
You sure you are entering number right? No confusing zero with O

If all fails you need to contact apple support

FYI

I reinstalled all of the original disks and 5.1 works. Tomorrow, I'll reinstall all the upgrade disks too.

5.1 opens just fine

Is version 2.1.3 of LiveType part of FCP 6.0?
