Nothing appearing in my canvas? What the #$%@!

So everything was working fine and then all of a sudden nothing is playing back in my canvas, it's just all black. I can hear it playing back, but seeing nothing.

Any ideas anyone? Thank you.

My mystical powers of clairvoyance tell me that you have inadvertently set your canvas to "Alpha" instead of "RGB."

Okay, I'm not really clairvoyant. But this question comes up often, and that's usually the correct answer.

I would have said that too if it was white, but not black. Maybe a preference trash will help.

Plus maybe some actual information about the content, like the format of the media and the format of the sequence.

Yeah, Alpha mode would usually not give you black.

A more likely scenario is that you hit W by mistake, going into Wireframe mode instead of Image + Wireframe. If so, keeping hitting W until you see the picture again.

Don't I feel like a tool. I would've sworn that setting the canvas (or viewer) to alpha when no alpha was present resulted in a black window, but I stand corrected.
