That is cool. Does the new FCS already have a stablizer in it, anyone know?

yes, and has had since the last version FCP6.
however..
the in-built version will attempt to smooth the entire master clip, which can take a L-O-N-G time

the workaround is to export the part of the shot you are using in the timeline,
and re-import it.

Yes. FCP 6 has smoothcam, both in Motion and in FCP. Motion allows you to track and lock down the shot. The downside, is that you need to export just the section you used.

You can also stabilize shots in After Effects.

no wonder my clip would take like half hour, i stopped it

It's not only cool - but works 5 times as fast as Smoothcam -- even when you export just the bit of the clip you want and re-import it - very impressive - you can download a test run - full function for 15 days I think - if you do a lot of this - this is a huge time saver.

SmoothCam works nicely for me, a wedding videographer, as long as there are no camera flashes. If there is a camera flash, it screws up SmoothCam. Would this work better?

dunno... give the demo a go.

for difficult stabilization,
you might have to take the clip into motion,
where you can edit the errant stabilizing keyframes.
