Hiding FCP interferes with Outputting???

I have

is it a fluke? Or can you not hide FCP when

If you're going out to tape, it's a delicate process and you should let it roll.

Digitizing and rendering shouldn't be affected. But playing out to tape requires FCP to be the foreground application.
