wrong serial number for one machine

My work place bought two seperate FCP 7. After I put in the install disc, but before I put the Audio Content 1 disc, I found out that I was installing the wrong serial number for that computer. I was suppose to install the other serial number for the second FCP 7 we purchased. (long story on way what I did was wrong). I cancelled the install. Now when I put the install disc in, it doesn't ask me for the serial number. It's still trying to install the wrong one.
How do I get it to ask for the serial number so I can put in the correct one?

Under Final Cut 6, you'd need to remove the file "/Library/Application Support/ProApps/Final Cut Studio System ID." That's where your license is stored. Removing it forces the application to prompt you for a license when you next launch, or I guess in your case when you next try to install.

I don't know for a fact that it's the same under version 7, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is.

oh man, no luck. I deleted the Final Cut Studio System ID, empty my trash, and restarted the computer. It's still running off the wrong serial number. It's times like this that I wish command z would work.

maybe do a search for "Final Cut Studio System ID"

there may be another one.

Yeah, once you dump that thing you should be able to install the right one. So something aint right. There has got to be another one lying low.

You have to dump both the FCP System ID and in the same folder the ProApps System ID.
