speccing an upgrade to Mac Pro-kona 3 or aja io HD

When we get the new Mac Pro, what are your opinions on the following options for FCP

1) Buy a new Kona 3, keep the existing aja io (SD)

or 2) Don't buy the Kona 3, but get a aja io HD to replace both the Kona 2 and io?

3) get the Kona 3 and the ioHD?

Why would you get both?

OK...think now. WHAT do you need to do? What workflows are you needing to deal with, and what capture device does what you need? I don't see why you'd need both, unless you want to work with Color (that the IO HD doesn't do at HD resolution), or you need portablility with a laptop which the Kona 3 doesn't do). But seeing that you are on a MacPro, just get the Kona 3..or the LHi (if you need analog inputs).

I just found out about the Kona lHi, it looks like this would be a good candidate
to replace both the old Kona 2 on the G5 and the aja io, plus it has analogue
in-out.

Thanks for pointing me in this direction.
Remember, I am revamping a circa 2004 mac system, so my choices are
sometimes not self-evident-That's why I ask for advice!
