EditShare

Anyone using the EditShare products? I have a client who is taking a close look and is interested in other users experience with the company and their solutions.

The only people I know of that have editshare in this area is Flagler College.

I used it once for a very short period of time, so I can't tell you much about the pros and cons. I believe I was editing off a gigE connection, but I was cutting DV on that one, so it was really not a problem. From what I remember you'll log in and you get read and write permissions on certain volumes or was it a user account. It's really not hard to use for the editor. Not sure about the person setting it up though.

I used it on my last show on FCP. If you render in one room and try to play down the sequence in another and the permissions are not setup properly your sequence will come up as not rendered and if you try to render it you will get a not found error message. It's all about setting up permissions properly and it should be fine.
