Reading Zoom H2 date-Time stamp in FCP
September 26, 2010 12:35AM
I have set my Zoom H2 recorder to record time of day date stamp in BWF files however I can't seem to read it in FCP. I have read of a plug-in from Automatic Duck for DV time stamp but they seem to have discontinued it (not sure if was useful for H2).

This would be very useful for synching sep sound recorded on the H2.

Anyone know how?
TIA

FCP does not need anything to read BWF timestamps.
If you don't see a start TC, it's not there.
AFAIK, the BWF part of the Zoom is one big marketing hoax, as it has no external reference.

However, i'm able to convert the file creation date to a proper BWF stamp.
(I could alter QTchange to add the functionality).

But, you will still be off by a few seconds. (Although it is of course better than nothing.)

Do send me a testclip to have a look at! (contact me direct for my dropbox)

Thanks for that Bouke. A few seconds out is no big problem, saves scrolling through endless sound searching.

I have set the date/time stamp in the H2 but as you said it doesn't show in FCP. Grabbing from the creation date sound a good work around. Will send a file.

Many thanks.
