Auto Render FullPosted by jamesnw
Hi all-
I have ~120 sequences that I want to render to Full- where if you have Full checked under Render All, it will render even the gray-ish green parts of the timeline. Auto Render is usually my friend for rendering multiple sequences, but it doesn't seem to render to full. The manual confirms this behavior - I think - it says it renders Red, then audio, then yellow/orange, and then green. By green, I'm assuming they mean Preview lime green, not Full grey-green, correct? Any ideas on how to render multiple sequences to full without manually rendering each one? I'd like to keep render files on the individual sequences, so nesting them all won't work. The issue is I'm rendering on a fast machine, but will likely be laying off from and possibly making changes on an older machine, so what they see as rendered enough to play back is just enough different to cause me this headache. To sum up - 2 main questions. Is there a way to auto render to full? And, Any ideas on what to do besides render each sequence individually? One trick I use, is select the entire timeline.
Then Render/Selected/Full. This works for me, try it! jamesnw Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi all- > I have ~120 sequences that I want to render to > Full- where if you have Full checked under Render > All, it will render even the gray-ish green parts > of the timeline. > Then Render/Selected/Full. Auto Render doesn't just do part of a timeline, so selecting the timeline isn't necessary. Auto Render settings should be determined by one of the render settings (Sequence - Render and Sequence - Render All). I always set both to render everything so I don't know for certain which one controls Auto Renders, but I'm pretty sure it's Render, not Render All. Set both to Full and Auto Renders should behave the same way. www.derekmok.com
Select the sequences in the FCP browser and hit option r. I know what you mean, though, I use auto render to render open sequences across multiple projects.

That's what I was hoping, but it seems like the autorender behavior is always the same, no matter what (at least according to the manual.) Everything is checked in both Render Only and Render All, and it still doesn't render full.
I just checked in the FCP7 manual, and it seems to be the same-
If your sequence is scattered across multiple projects, you may want to consolidate them in one FCP project and render from the FCP browser.
