Export to Quicktime weirdness

I've come across an interesting problem and was wondering if anyone else had experienced it.

When exporting to QT I'm getting a jump on the image (resized, sometimes in sometimes out).
This is happening close to a cut whether with an image supered on V2 or sometimes just a single layer image... but always near a cut.
This is NOT happening in FCP when played in the timeline but only when exported to QT. Played back in QT 10.0(118).

What is really interesting is this does NOT happen when using QT conversion!

It is also not happening when played in QT 7.6.4

Very weird but frustrating.
