I can't import files AVHCD from FCP7

Dear friends, I upgraded FC5 to FCP7, but I can't import AVHCD files. I tried everything
to import that, but my Imac can't red this MTS files. I wouldn't like to convert it. Do you
know if its possible to import directly from AVHCD into FCP 7??

In order for FCP Log and Transfer to read AVCHD .MTS files, the original file structure of every card (or camera hard drive) needs to be preserved, including blank folders. If you don't have that, then you need to use ClipWrap or Voltaic.

Also do a quick online search to make sure your brand of AVCHD doesn't require a special FCP plugin to ingest.

First off, you shouldn't be trying to read directly off the card. Backup every memory card to a folder in a computer drive first.

Look in the AVCHD - BDMV - STREAM folder. Are the .MTS files intact?

FCP7 can't ingest 1920x1080 50p AVHCD. (This was not a legal AVHCD resolution at the time FCP7 was written. Maybe it is now.) You must use ClipWrap, VoltaicHD, or other software to convert this to .mov files which can then be imported to FCP7.


If you are shooting 1920x1080 50p, congratulations!
