FCP 3 - yes I said 3

Hi,

I have an old FCP 3 program
and I am having a problem hearing sound
while I am logging and capturing.

I am also having problems hearing when
I playback in the timeline. Can't hear anything

But when I open just the quicktime file, there is audio.

What setting/s have a I missed?

Help.

None. Audio is monitored from the deck not from the computer during capture.

It's possible to hear audio through the FCP audio outputs during Log and Capture. Under FCP3, I think it's under Audio/Video Settings - Device Control - Audio - On While Capturing.

Wrong audio settings. Check Audio/Video Settings - Audio Output.

I am still not having any luck.

I don't believe that was available in v3.

What is your audio output set up? Does it go out to external speakers? A mixer? A deck? Just to the internal speakers?

And what is your setting for output under Audio/Video settings, like Derek asked?

Also, probably thw simplest fix, did you disconnect the camera that you captured from? The audio could be playing out to that, and if it's turned down, you won't hear your sound.
