Convert Panasonic HDC-TM900 files to MP4 format?

I want to import and convert Panasonic HDC-TM900 files to MP4 format on my Macbook pro.I can't figure out how to do that. I have tried shooting in AVCHD format and placing my camera in 1080/60P. Nothing seems to work.
