What codec are you converting to? Might be better to do a straight native export and use Compressor, Episode or Squeeze to convert it to desired format.
10-bit can be problematic, it requires something like 4 times the memory of an 8-bit clip. Might be the length of the clip that causes the error. It's really made for 64-bit machines and those with very powerful GPU's.
