Importing Nikow Raw NEF files in FCP / AF

Hello

I am having an issue opening D800 Nikon NEF files on FCP Ver 7 and After Effects as well. I also tried PS and it said it could not support this file format. I looked and found the nef codec for win - but nothing for mac I was able to do it on my MPB - but that crashed last week. I dont remember installing any codec for that. - any suggestions?

Hello you cant import raw NEF still files into FCP
You have to process them in photoshop 1st download the latest Camera Raw plugin for photoshop
Or process to tiff/jpeg using the Nikon software that comes with the camera that you can download via web for free
