Hello we captured footage with the Panasonic LX7 camera, transfered the video files onto an external drive. We’re now trying to import those AVCHD files into Final Cut Pro 7 but it seems they are not supported… how do you import them?

As we know, AVCHD format is not well to use on Mac OS or FCP software, for Final Cut editing, the best format is Apple prores codec MOV format, so what we need to do is to convert LX7 AVCHD MTS files to prores codec, and then we can use LX7 recorded video smoothly in FCP 7/X on Mac Mountain without problems.

I use log and transfer with my Pany Gh2 all the time.

A. Have you downloaded/installed the plugin from Panasonic?
[eww.pass.panasonic.co.jp]

B. Did you try and just copy the MTS files off the card, and import them. That wont work in FCP. Try importing directly from the card. Start FCP, then open Log and transfer and then mount the card. It may just pop up on its own.

C. Are you sure you installed the Plug-in from Panasonic

D. Try MPEGstreamclip, 5D2RGB, or Voltaic.
