Where to get certified in something odd?

Brightcove and Vimeo and other video sites have a backend. My nephew asked me how does he get certified to manage those systems that deliver the videos.

I was at a loss. I was thinking its a CDN ( content delivery network ) but i wasn't sure and also thought VDN.

I do not know. So i am asking here.

what prerequisites, certifications or degree is needed to manage video systems?

hmmm, good question. There may not be a specific certification, but more of a specific skillset that would make one qualified for such a job. Definitely a mix of video and IT experience.

This is the sort of thing that may be good to reach out to someone that works at Vimeo or Brightcove (look on Linkedin) and see what they suggest, or if they have any pointers of programs to look at or certifications to get, etc.

Keep us posted on what you/your nephew finds out. This is definitely a growing industry.
