FCP 7 Academic goes Black Screen

I just got a Mac Pro 8 core and I installed FCP 7 Academic version on it, I opened a new project with some DVCProHD footage 1920 x 1080 only a 2 minute clip in the timeline and the both of my dual screens went Black while I was playing the footage?

Check to make sure your playback setting is on Image, not Wireframe. (Press W to toggle while the Canvas and/or Viewer is selected)

External monitors? Do you mean computer monitors, or actual playback external monitors?
