Losing link when cutting the heads of merged clips

Hello,

I'm syncing via a smart slate using merge clips. Most of clips have extra audio at the beginning and so I'm laying them on the timeline and cutting the heads and tails. When I cut the head the clip with ctrl+V, the link between the audio and video gets disconnected as it associates the very beginning of the audio clip with the video, and I end up have to relink them.

Is there any option to associate the audio with the end of the clip or an alternate way of trimming the heads off after merging the clips, without having to relink?

Thank you

Hold OPTION and drag the edge instead.

Thanks Derek, although I was hoping to not have to use the mouse.

it might be simpler to live with the extra audio.
how much is it?

when you open the clips from the browser into the viewer, do you have split in /outs?
if NOT, and if the in/outs reflect the picture element, then you could open clips from border into viewer, then edit into timeline.

i think the quickest approach is to keep doing what you are doing.

actually the quickest approach is to use Sync n Link.
XML software that wil sync your clips and trim them to length
but it's a bit pricey.
