Action Editing Part 2

Offensive hyper violence. Even more offensive @#$%& movies no editing craft could help.

First off, both scenes shown (at least the two sat through) were disgustingly violent to the point of pornographic violence. One head being shot at point blank range after another is tasteless and ridiculously overkill, but nerds don't get that. Forget the polite applause afterward, where's the outrage at this sick deranged level of extreme graphic violence which certainly infects young and unstable minds as well as poisons the culture overall?! It's not okay. The violence in these films as shown blatantly in the chosen scenes is detrimental to society, and if you don't believe that then you must be another progressive liberal Democrat who looks the other way on such content and simply blames the 2nd Amendment and NRA for our violent culture while stupidly ignoring the obvious media factors of influence often motivating real violence. There is perhaps nothing more hypocritical than the gun culture Hollywood and company continuously pumps out and profits immensely from while most of the individuals responsible for it take a phony anti-gun leftist stance politically.
This is not an outright indictment of the editors, but then again you can't have it both ways. Either they're pawn workers for hire doing the biddings of the studio/producers/director or they genuinely crafted and believe in the product.

Secondly, the scenes are ludicrous! Wile E. Coyote's antics were far more plausible than these absurdly choreographed ballets of grotesque highly redundant extreme violence, especially the female taking out countless big thug male assassins in "Atomic Blonde", a pathetic cartoon masquerading as a spy thriller made by juvenile minded idiots who think a silly wall to wall retro song score cuts it as narrative. This female comic book character's sheer fantasy level of physical ability stretches any measure of suspension of disbelief even by today's absurd superhero cinematic standards.

Lastly, the fact alone that the scene is a twelve minute long take points to the exact problem of these over-the-top action flicks! It's too much! It's overkill redundant overlong self indulgent predictable "action" to the point of total boredom. The fact the cuts are nearly all invisible (jump cuts, wipes, speed ramps, etc.?) to preserve the silly phony illusion of this extra long take is an example of that aspect of editing most like sewing. That's an aspect women editors might like, but it sure as @#$%& isn't the aspect of the craft of editing that delivers great intelligent action narratives. Action is not even a true genre though everyone just goes along with it. Every movie has action just as every good movie should contain suspense (even comedies). Drama, adventure, and thriller are legitimate genres that every good 'action' flick should be one or a hybrid of. That said if a movie is labeled action, you can bet it's likely lousy. The fewer and fewer Hollywood exceptions can be stellar such as "First Blood", "Die Hard", "The Fugitive" or "Executive Decision" were, all intelligent 'action' films. "John Wick" and "Atomic Blonde" are silly contrived lowest common denominator exploitation junk not above Van Damme and the like, only they're even far more violent!

This is not content nor craft to be noted much less celebrated. Its very existence should be questioned. Though not a call for censorship, this is a wake up call to all you sheep who accept such despicable 'entertainment' which if you had any brains or were remotely honest with yourselves you'd admit is garbage and an utter bore for any audience except drug addled losers or young kids who haven't seen its cliché ridden dreck hundreds of times before on screen.
