FCP 2.0.2 upgrade installation & -45 error

Posted by Chris Sorensen
<HTML>In the middle of trying to reinstall the FCP 2.0 upgrade, I get an error message:

"An error prevented the update from completeing:

-45 the file is locked."

I looked this up int "Macintosh Secrets" and it says that -45 means I am trying to save or copy something to a locked disk.

How do I tell which disk is locked and how do I unlock it?

Yesterday I installed the FCP 2.0 upgrade successfully. Today I downloaded the FCP 2.0.2 update, but then could not get FCP to launch again. Hence my attempt to reinstall it. If I click on the error, the installation continues and finishes by saying the installation is successful. But I still can't launch it. There must be some correlation between the attempts at installing these items and the failure to be able to get them to work after downloadin the 2.0.2 patch.

Thanks to whomever has the solution.

<HTML>To unlock a disk or folder you just select the folder icon and go to the FILE menu and select "get Info >Genreal Information and uncheck the little LOCK. Are you sure your FCP 2.0 folder is at the root level and not in some other foder such as Applications? Has to be at root level.
