QuickTime on Windows Internet Explorer

Posted by Daniel Sofer
<HTML>Hi all:
Just a note for those of you that put up QuickTime movies on your web site:
The about to be released Internet Explorer 6 for Windows NO LONGER SUPPORTS Netscape style plug-ins such as the one that QuickTime uses (just like on the Mac). They support only ActiveX Controls.

What this means is that these visitors to your site will all of a sudden no longer be able to view the QuickTime content on your site.

Apple has just released an ActiveX Control for QuickTime that will download automatically and fix the problem -- but you need to reprogram your web pages for it.

...but users will STILL need to download QuickTime.
