Hello Nick, I see that you are the editor on "Three Dollars". Congrats. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it hits Vancouver. I'm a big fan of Aussie film. All the best, Bruce

thanks, bruce.
i have to say, that shameless self-promotion doent come easy to a film editor,
but i thought it'd give it a go!
i'll keep you informed about the film's future.

cheers,
nick

...and NEVER feel ashamed about self-promotion.

Us Post Production folk spend all our time in dark rooms - often with no windows. We have no one singing our praises and, for the most part, the SHAMELESS Producers / Account Executives take full credit for projects we gave birth to. I have won many awards other people over my 5 and a half years in Advertising. If you don't look after yourself, it's a very thankless career.

Sometimes, you have to enter your work in contests yourself. Awards for nick = $$$ in future bookings.

If it wins any awards, you BETTER LET US KNOW - here, in the forum.

Ciao !!

as far as avid bins to fcp

i do it all the time

export your avid bin as ALE

then import your ALE files into

Sebsky Tools

click on ale2fcp and magic

that will do the trick. you now have txt file that final cut will import.

note. sebsky tools wont take avb. only ale.

sometime sebsky tools is a little quirky -email me if you have problems with it. i know how to make it work.

thanks for the encouragment, joe.
the film is based on a novel, so has a pretty rich story: hard to sumarise.
i'll try to keep you all informed.
