i'm wondering if i can connect my 12" powerbook g4 to a tv. i would be trying to go from a mini-dvi to vga cable into a vga to s-video cable. i want to do this because the my worthless dv camera won't let me send a singnal into it and send a singnal out to the tv at the same time. thanks for the help.

sure it's possible.

after you conect the 2, open system preferences: displays, and run "detect displays"
you can set the TV's frame size, and go to the "Colour" tab, and select the appropriate setting.

you should understand, though, that it's not like going through a camera, or other converter.
it's using the TV like a computer monitor.
you'll the whole DV frame, with surounds, so your TV safe and title safew are not represented,
and the image will be lower res, and you wont get any field info (so if you had a flickering freeze frame, you woul;dnt know)

ok for a guide..
but dont base any image desisions on whay you see there.

cheers,
nick

Don't you have an S-Video output on the back you can go straight out of?
