FCP 5 and Mackie Control surface

Problem: Faders on the Mackie follow when I change faders in Audio Mixer window, but not the reverse, which is the whole idea.
When making changes on tke Mackie faders, they "feel" and jump back to the position of the faders in the Audio Mixer..

(I have followed everything in the manual III p.99 etc. The Mackie Control works in all respects with Digital performer 4.52, Cubase SX3 and Logic Pro 7.01)

Anyone?

Try making sure fader automation (keyframe recording) is turned on in FCP's Mixer. That may help...
