digitizing - 44 items outside my selection...

hi there -

so i'm suddenly egtting this message whenever i'm about to digitize that says " 44 items outside of your selection have been found to reference the same media. Do you want to include them...etc"

what does this mean and why is it happening?

That tends to happen if you've lost your media but have already started editing. Those "items" are probably referring to clips that were made from the master clips, the ones you're trying to recapture. The message is trying to tell you that those clips are referencing the one piece you're trying to recapture. Most of the time, you can simply click "Relink" and everything should go fine. If you're not recapturing, though, then we'll need more information before we can tell you what might be going on.

that's the thing - i'm not re-capturing - it's new media.

what other info would you need to know?

What it could be is that you didn't set your Logging Bin, so right now FCP is looking to capture items that you've already captured. Check to see if that's the case.
