compress on FCP 6 from NTSC to PAL using Compressor

Posting for a friend...

"Okay...throwing out a question now to FCP 6 experts: I'm trying to compress on FCP 6 from NTSC to PAL using Compressor. My first try gave me a squeezed (4:3) look instead of the 16:9 we shot in.
I can't find any pull-downs in Compressor to maintain the correct ratio. It seems to be just a "one-click" deal in the settings (automatic), so I was surprised that along with the PAL conversion, it did a squeeze, too. ;-(
Any hints?
Thanks in advance!
Or, is it not squeezed? Is there a way to view the qt .mov window differently?

Thanks in advance!

Peace,
Lisha

If his original video was NTSC, how can it be true 16:9? It would either be anamorphic 16:9, or letterboxed.

I'm thinking when he says "squeezed", he means anamorphic -- which is how it's supposed to be.

Long post on that. SD is always 720x576. There is no square pixel 16:9 SD format in the ATSC.
