Jittery Video

I'm having an issue with jittery video. I shot it with a Sony Z7U at 1080i/60i and there are clips in it that are filmed with a slow shutter speed 15th with movement. Looks fine on the timeline.

I use a Matrox Mini to send the video from FCP Studio to my desktop using a Quicktime movie. When I play that video on my 17' computer it plays fine.

When I compress the quicktime video using Compressor it seems ok in the preview using Dvd Studio Pro 4. I set it up and burn a dvd and when I watch the video on television the movement on a lower shutter jitters.

I need the video to play on a larger screen tv and don't know how to resolve the issue.

Might it be in dvd studio or the Quicktime movie? Not sure which stage is screwing things up. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks,
Ed

if you have idvd try that just to see if it still gives you the jitters.

I figured it out. I de-Interlaced the clips in FCP and it worked.

Thanks

Try adding a shift fields filter instead.

Yeah it sounds like your field order is wrong. Using shift fields would be better than de-interlacing, unless you specifically want the de-interlaced look.

Also, what Strypes said - you can just export a quicktime movie right out of FCP. No need for any kind of intermediary.
