I'd like to avoid recompressing using batch export. It would be great if you could batch export either reference or self-contained movies with the QuickTime Movie function.

i dont understand, Tom..
you can batch export as QTMovie, self contained or reference.

you know what *would* be good in batch export:

export with chapter markers.
