Newbie problem: was importing in ProRes 422, now h.264

Hi:

After years on FCP 1-7, I'm trying to find my way in FCPX. Phew! I don't think I changed anyhting, at least not intentionally, but now when I bring a clip in, from SD cards which I imported from before, I now notice in the clip info that it's h.264 whereas the same clip previously was ProRes 422. What happened?! How can I get back to ProRes? When I click on a h.264 clip and select "optimize", it indicates it's at its optimized best.
