2nd External Hard Drive Not Recognized using P2 files and FCPX

I have a new Panasonic HPX255P camera (P2 files) and have a Buffalo 1TB Thunderbolt External Hard Drive. Also have a MacBookPro.
The external hard drive either has to be formatted for PC to transfer the camera P2 files to be offloaded to the hard drive. I can not offload the P2 files from the external hard drive to the Mac as the external hard drive has to be formatted to the Mac.

Does anyone know of a way to convert the files coming from the external hard drive to the Mac?

Your Help Is Greatly Needed.
Thanks/ Don

What did you format the PC drive as? How old is your Mac? Modern Macs with OS10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and above should be able to read FAT16-, FAT32- and NTFS-format drives. I remember an Intel Quad being unable to read an NTFS drive about two years ago, but that seems to be in the past.

Next time, test it before you put the P2 files onto the drive. When a drive is mis-formatted, the only solution is usually to re-format the drive, and that wipes all the files on it.
